Who is ziggy chang ?
I was born in Jamaica the year of 1982 august 11th.
I started out writing dancehall music witch falls under reggae music, my first trip to SXM was in 1995 I stay here 1 year that’s when I started listening to rap music the first rap song I fell in love with was gangsters paradise by coolio then I started listening biggie smalls , 2pac, dmx puffy mase and all kind of rap music, I use to proform other artist rap song in school with my crew until I started writing my own music, in Jamaica I live in a house with 7 different people and they all listen different kind of music so when they are listening there kind of music I have no choice but to listen to it too so that makes me a lil versatile.
Came back to SXM in the year 2000 when my brother past away so I started going to studios then in 2005 there was a freestyle competition in 51/50 night club that last for 3 weeks all the local rappers who got crazy skills sign up for this competition the first week I battle with versatile the battle was so crazy that they had to give us a 3rd round for the tie breaker but it still didnt make any difference they didn’t want us to go to a 4th round so we both move on to the 2nd week along with the other rappers who won, and the ones who lost got illuminated 2nd week was elimination week as well as the 1st week , then the final week the judges were Passion, Baby G, and international rap star Posta boy who won 7 weeks on BET’s 106 n park freestyle friday witch got him in the wall of fame then he get a record deal and G-money was the host throughout the whole competition that night they crown me king, about 2 weeks later Terrence from BET came down to visit G-money so G itroduce me and the 1st runner up witch was versatile to Terrence then we rap for him he didn’t know sxm had such talent so he invited me up for BET’s freestyle Friday I messed up in the 1st round then came back strong in the 2nd round but unfortunetly i didn’t win but I did represent.
The name of the mixed tape cd is called FROM THEN TO NOW cause its songs what I did from then to now you smell what I’m steppin in.
Most of my music is real some of them are imagination its what I was feeling at the time.
My message to all local artist is we all need to come together and put sxm on the map and one of my dream right now is to record a song with 4 da haters rapping on the 1st vers ziggy chang on the 2nd vers and oddessy on the 3rd vers that would be a hit I’m just being real, at the end of my cd there is a track that last for 15 min thanking allot of people listen if your name is on it.
